Privacy policy
What we collect, and why.

Who we are
Voiyada is a customer-support helpdesk: AI answers routine questions instantly and real people handle the rest. This policy covers the voiyada.com website, the Voiyada support dashboard, the chat widget our clients embed on their own sites, and our Shopify app.
Three groups of people interact with Voiyada, and we hold different data about each: businesses that use Voiyada for their support (our clients, including Shopify merchants), their customers who write in through the chat widget, and visitors to voiyada.com.
What we collect
Chat conversations. When a customer writes into the chat widget we store their messages, the store or site the message came from, and an anonymous visitor token kept in their browser so returning visitors see their own conversation. No account, password, or email is required to chat.
Email addresses — only if offered. Widget visitors are offered, never required, the chance to leave an email address to be notified of replies. If they skip it, the conversation works identically.
Support tickets. Each conversation becomes a ticket holding the name given (if any), email (if given), subject, messages, and replies from our team, along with the AI’s internal classification of the ticket.
Shopify merchant data. When a merchant installs our Shopify app we store the shop’s myshopify.com domain, shop name, contact email, the API access credentials Shopify issues to us, and the subscription plan and its status.
Order information. For stores that have authorized it, we look up a customer’s recent orders — status, items, tracking — matched by their email or an order number they mention, so a support agent has context without asking for it. Order details are shown to support staff only; our AI is instructed never to quote order details in an automated reply, because chat visitors have not proven their identity.
Billing details. If you subscribe directly on voiyada.com we store your email and the payment status. Payment itself happens on Paystack’s hosted checkout — your card details never touch our servers. Merchants who subscribe through our Shopify app are billed by Shopify, and we store only the subscription’s plan and status.
Staff accounts. Our own team members have accounts holding their name, email, a salted password hash, and work-session times.
Our public pages — the voiyada.com home page, this policy, and the confirmation page after a signup — can use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, but only if you accept it in the notice shown on your first visit. Decline and it is never loaded. If you accept, it records the pages visited, the link that referred you, and general device and browser information, along with an approximate location that Google Analytics 4 derives from your IP address without storing the address itself. It never receives your name, your email, or the contents of a support conversation. We run no advertising pixels, and this data is never used for advertising.
On the confirmation page shown after a direct signup, and again only if you accepted, we record one “signed up” event so we can count how many visits become customers. That event carries no payment reference, no email address, and no amount, and the page address reported alongside it has the reference stripped out of it — the confirmation page is the one page we never report a page view for.
Analytics runs nowhere else by design: not on the support dashboard, not on the pages shown inside Shopify’s admin, and not in the chat widget. Nothing you do in a support conversation reaches Google.
How we use it
For one purpose: running your support desk. Messages are read by our AI the moment they arrive to answer routine questions and route complex ones to a person. Order data gives the person picking up a ticket context. Email addresses are used to notify customers of replies and store owners of tickets that need them. Billing data keeps subscriptions running.
We do not sell personal data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond providing the service.
AI processing
Incoming support messages are processed by Anthropic’s Claude API to classify each ticket and draft answers to routine questions. For connected Shopify stores, relevant order context may be included so the AI can route order-specific questions to a human. Anthropic processes this data to provide the API service and, per its commercial terms, does not train its models on it.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run Voiyada, each receiving only what its job requires:
Anthropic. AI processing. Support messages (and, for connected stores, order context) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to classify tickets and draft replies.
Shopify. For merchants who install our Shopify app: app installation, order lookups you have authorized, and subscription billing.
Paystack. Payment processing for direct signups. Card details are entered on Paystack's hosted checkout and never reach Voiyada.
Resend. Transactional email — reply notifications to customers who chose to leave an email address, and notifications to store owners.
Google. Website analytics, and only for visitors who accept it. Google Analytics receives page views, referring links, and general device and location information for visits to our public voiyada.com pages only. It receives no support messages, names, or email addresses.
Railway. Hosting. Our application and its database run on Railway's infrastructure.
Beyond these, data leaves Voiyada only when the law requires it or you ask us to send it somewhere.
Cookies and browser storage
The support dashboard sets one signed session cookie so staff stay logged in. The chat widget keeps an anonymous visitor token in the browser’s local storage so a returning visitor sees their own conversation — it identifies a browser to us, not a person, and is never used to track anyone across other sites.
Our public pages remember your answer to the cookie notice in local storage, under voiyada:cookie-consent, so we only have to ask once. If you accepted, Google Analytics then sets two first-party cookies of its own, _ga and _ga_WD8KJV3GFZ; they tell one browser apart from another so a repeat visit is not counted as a new person, and they expire two years after your last visit. If you declined, neither is ever set.
The confirmation page after a signup also keeps your payment reference in that tab’s session storage, under voiyada:signup-tracked, for one reason: so reloading the page is not counted as a second signup. It is never sent to Google and your browser discards it when the tab closes. That is the complete list.
To change your answer, clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser — the notice will appear again on your next visit.
Retention and deletion
We keep support data for as long as the business it belongs to remains a Voiyada client, so their customers’ conversation history stays useful to them.
For Shopify merchants, we honor Shopify’s mandatory privacy processes:
Customer data requests. When a customer asks their merchant what data we hold, we compile everything — tickets, replies, and chat records tied to their email — and deliver it to the merchant, who responds to their customer as Shopify’s process requires.
Customer erasure. When Shopify sends a customer-redact request, we delete that customer’s tickets, replies, and chat records for that store.
Store erasure. After a merchant uninstalls our app, Shopify sends a shop-redact request and we delete the store’s data: its tickets, chat records, subscription history, and the installation record, including the API credentials.
Anyone — client, customer, or visitor — can also email us directly to ask what data we hold about them or to have it deleted.
Security
All traffic to Voiyada is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Webhooks from Shopify and Paystack are cryptographically verified before we act on them. API credentials are held server-side and never exposed to browsers or the chat widget, and staff passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. The current version always lives at voiyada.com/privacy.
